It’s your friendly neighborhood exmuslim here. I have some not so nice news. There’s not just one but two different cases of people who are in trouble because of blasphemy laws. But it’s not two atheists but one Muslim and one atheist. It just goes to show you that even if you are Muslim, but not of the right sect, you can get in trouble for saying the wrong things.
On the anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo attacks we have a knife attack inspired by Islam.
According to Reuters, French police are currently reviewing a video they got from this young boy’s phone. It is alleged that in the video, the boy identifies himself as Zeheer Hassan Mehmood and he recites poetry praising Muhammad in a trance-like state later promising to fight the people who republished the caricatures of Mohammad. It is very sad to see a very young boy this heavily indoctrinated.
I get asked this question a lot. Either “What if you are wrong?” or “Why don’t you just believe?”. Sometimes they’ll add to it “What do you lose for being a Muslim? You don’t get to eat pork and drink alcohol? You cant have a girlfriend? What’s the big deal?”
Is the Quran perfectly and miraculously preserved? Is there only one Quran? Are there any differences in the text? Do the differences affect the meaning? Do the manuscripts match the Quran we have today? Did the companions of Muhammad recite the Quran differently? If you are confused then you came to the right place!

I was listening to the seerah yesterday and found this interesting incident where Muhammad confused his companions. He gave his companions an order but ended up in a situation where half of them couldn’t follow his order and ended up in a religious dilemma.
