He holds prior degrees in Mathematics and Accounting and has a Master of Theological Studies degree from Harvard Divinity School. Currently he is an advanced PhD Candidate in Islamic studies at Harvard and specializes in Quranic Studies, the intellectual history of Islamic Philosophy, and Ismailism.
